The Himalayan Institute is a non-profit spiritual organization dedicated to the teachings and practices of the Himalayan tradition of yoga and meditation. Founded in 1971 by Swami Rama of the Himalayas, the Institute has spent over five decades sharing authentic yogic wisdom — meditation, breath work, tantra, and the deeper philosophy of yoga science — with students around the world.
Under the guidance of Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, PhD, spiritual head of the Himalayan Institute and successor to Swami Rama, the Institute continues this living tradition through retreats, teacher training, publications, and practices like the Sri Sukta — an ancient Vedic hymn devoted to the awakening of inner abundance, nourishment, and grace.
The Sri Sukta practice is part of a rich tantric tradition passed down through an unbroken lineage of Himalayan masters. Through mantra, meditation, and contemplative practice, it invites practitioners to connect with the radiant, life-giving force the tradition calls Sri — the embodiment of beauty, prosperity, and spiritual vitality.
